Capabilities and protocols

Understand the text APIs, endpoint addresses, and how model capabilities relate to access permissions.

What the platform provides

The platform brings the model catalog, API access and usage records into one account. Explore models, manage keys, make requests using supported protocols and review consumption.

Context limits, image inputs, streaming and tool support vary by model. Check the model details, endpoint type and key permissions before integrating. Explore models

Supported text endpoints

The public text API exposes the following endpoints. Configure the address for your client’s protocol; endpoint availability does not mean that every model supports every protocol.

Text endpoints
EndpointRequest pathPurpose
Chat CompletionsPOST /v1/chat/completionsCompatible clients using the messages format.
ResponsesPOST /v1/responsesApplications and tools using the Responses protocol.
MessagesPOST /v1/messagesClients using the Anthropic Messages protocol.
Count tokensPOST /v1/messages/count_tokensToken estimates; the current estimation fallback is not an exact billing measure.

Which address to configure

Base URL for OpenAI-compatible clients
https://api.openoxai.com/v1
API root for Anthropic clients
https://api.openoxai.com

Clients with a Base URL field usually append the endpoint path themselves. Tools asking for a complete request URL need the full path, such as /v1/messages. Follow the client guide to avoid adding /v1 twice.

The website sign-in URL and model API URL serve different purposes. Create an API key in your account; a website password is not an API credential.

Model capabilities and access

  1. Confirm the model ID: copy the exact identifier from its details.
  2. Confirm the endpoint: check support for the client protocol and required features.
  3. Confirm access: review the key’s product, group, model restrictions and expiry.
  4. Confirm funding: available balance or actual subscription credit must be eligible for this request. A catalog listing alone does not grant access.

Images, video and availability

Public API and Studio availability differ

Public image and video inference endpoints are not currently open. Use the models and settings available in Studio; their presence there does not establish availability through a public API.

Image inputs for text models also depend on model and endpoint support. Check model prices and billing documentation for units, context tiers and cache rates.
